A Burger and Fries

Now that we had gotten a little taste of Greece, we would delve deeper as we took a tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon. The hike was a workout and a slippery one at that. The steps up to the top of the Parthenon were marble and not the easiest thing to maneuver with the multitude of other tourists trying to keep up with their guide. Anyways, once we finally made it up to the top, we had a bird's eye view of the city. It was truly something incredible and picturesque. Being that up close and personal to the ancient pieces of history was a surreal and unexplainable experience.

As we made our way back down, we would enter into the Acropolis museum which was a piece of art within itself. The clean lines and recent renovations to modernize added a contemporary feel. For example, on the way up to the entrance, there were parts of the sidewalk that were glass. This allowed for you to be able to see some of the archaeological dig sites. When we went inside, the museum was broken into three levels each becoming more interactive as you went up. Seeing the statues, unique paintings, and ancient pieces of pottery was a great way to hear more stories about the history of Greece and their traditions.

After the tour was over, we were starving! Me and a few other girls ended up at this little pub styled restaurant with awesome food! I think everyone was missing variety in their diet so this was the perfect pick me up. For lunch, I had this fabulous BBQ burger. I don't usually crave beef but I was feeling a good hearty American meal today and everything about it was just magnificent...even down to the sauces.
