Train Strikes and Struggles

Today we would endure a painful day of trying to make it to our next destination of Poggio Etrusco. Unfortunately our three day trip would be cut short due to the 24 hour train strike. Our options weren't great but this one was the most ideal one given the circumstances. We almost didn't even make it there as we were asked to get off one of the trains to get to Pascoe. Apparently we had gotten on the wrong train; it was an innercity train and we were supposed to be on a different one. Thankfully, the guy checking tickets said that if we paid 50 euros or something like that, we would be able to stay on until our stop. He definitely pocketed the cash though, because we were not given any type of receipt or anything showing proof of the payment.

Anyways, once we finally made it to Tuscany, there was a feeling of relief. We had made it back to safety and were ready to reset and continue on with the rest of our trip. It could only go up from here anyways!

For dinner, we ate at little pizza place called 3 Stelle, right near Poggio Etrusco. I ordered a veggie pizza with eggplant, mushroom, and zucchini. The pizza was bigger than my head and so very delicious. We were ravenous after the long trek of trying to get safely to Tuscany so this meal was greatly appreciated. For dessert, I had panna cotta with chocolate syrup drizzled over it.

Thank you Pascoe for rescuing us!!!
