Hiking Day

Today we went to Portovenere ed Isola di Palmaria. We would hike a 2 hour trail and then check out what the rest of the island had to offer. This time, we caught the bus down to the bottom of the mountain and took a train to go hiking. We ate breakfast at the house and then made a plan to be gone for the rest of the day as we had learned how expensive it could get to keep taking taxis back and forth.

Once we got there, we walked around a little bit and checked out the beaches and some of the shops in the area. The group decided to stop and eat before we went on our hike to grab some lunch. I wasn't entirely hungry but what drew us to this restaurant was its outside seating that overlooked the beautiful water. It was gorgeous and the slight breeze that came through made me feel like I was in a movie or something.

Anyways, I didn't get anything to eat, but Paige got some sandwich and it didn't even look good. When I asked her how it was she even admitted to it not tasting very good. The sandwich had some sort of meat on it, tomato, and lettuce but primarily looked like a pile of bread.

Now, we would begin hiking!

Afterwards, we went to a small little restaurant on the island where I ordered a pesto pizza and it was really delicious. I mean, who doesn't like pizza? The pesto was just the cherry on top. It was a thin crusted pizza too which just made it that much better. Clearly there wasn't much that went into the pizza as the ingredients were minimal but cheese and pesto is a great pairing and I was in my element.

Today was significantly less horrific and actually really enjoyable!
